Palermo
In the morning, Bryan I visited the scuola del fumetto (comics school) in Palermo. Bryan delivered a lecture to the students; afterwards we looked over their work with them.
Then on to a meet-the-Talbots event at the Orto Botanico in the evening, which included my illustrated talk on Dotter, interview and Q&A. Chaired by Mario Benenati

Etna Comics Festival, Catania
Then on to the main event, where we appeared for a stage interview with Mario Benenati, Bryan did a lot of signing and sketching and the festival organisers presented him with an award!

Dublin Writers Festival

Trinity College, DublinBryan and I were invited back to Dublin to talk about Dotter of her Father’s Eyes at another literary event in June 2012. This time we were attending the Dublin Writers Festival in the hallowed halls of Trinity College. Chair: Stacey Herbert.
The day after our talk we were treated to a walking tour of the fair city with PCon organisers Pádraig Ó Méalóid and Deirdre Walsh. Dublin’s Natural History Museum houses an extensive taxidermy collection and so, naturally, it was at the top of Bryan’s list of places to go. His ongoing visual research for his Grandville series takes us to some intriguing places. Yes, he photographs stuffed animals for his art, look:
